Initially started with Anglian as a warehouse operative, before becoming more involved in the stores. Work involved offloading, inspecting and sorting of window deliveries and the stores required for fitting them.

After several years became an installer and service engineer, which involved the repair and replacement of serviceable items on the product.

Due to growth in the home improvement market, sales increased as did the volume of work. I was then approached to take over the managing of the stores and warehouse of the Birmingham branch, which I accepted and continued to do until leaving the business in 1999.
