Telecommunication Masts

I initially started working with the Telecommunications company Fujitsu in 1999.

The initial work stream involved the erecting and rigging of mobile phone microcell base stations for OPCS (Orange). In approximately 2005, this work evolved to encompass maintenance, antennae upgrades and safety audits of the built sites.

The work covered the whole of the UK and consisted of erecting various types of masts and structures that incorporated street lighting, together with the installation of the associated equipment cabinets.  Most structures were erected with a 7.5 tonne lorry mounted crane, however larger structures needed to be lifted using third party city cranes.

In addition to being licenced to drive a 7.5 tonne lorry (category C1, C1E-category restriction 107)  I am RTITB certified in the use of lorry mounted cranes, as well as certified as a slinger / banksman. Due to the placement of some of these sites I also possess  CSCS Blue skilled worker card - Comms Installer (Infrastructure) Industry accreditation A, and a City & Guilds NRSWA accreditation for chapter 8 in signing, lighting and guarding and am registered on the SWQR (Street works Qualifications Register).
